ABOUT THE PUBLICATION PARTNERS |
Amnesty International USA is a worldwide voluntary activist movement working towards the observance of all human rights as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.
OUTfront is Amnesty Internationals Program on Human Rights and Sexual Identity. The goals of OUTfront include combating human rights violations against LGBT persons around the world; increasing public awareness of international human rights abuses based on sexual identity; promoting international policies to protect people who face abuses because of their sexual identity; and strengthening links between activists within Amnesty International, other human rights groups, and the LGBT community. Amnesty International USAs Human Rights Educators Network is made up of educators and activists from all parts of the country who seek to further learning about human rights in formal and informal education. With over 80 chapters nationwide, GLSEN works on both local and national levels to assure that each member of every K-12 school community is valued and respected, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. GLSEN believes that such an atmosphere engenders a positive sense of self, which is the basis of educational achievement and personal growth. Since homophobia and heterosexism undermine a healthy school climate, GLSEN educates teachers, students, and the public at large about the damaging effects these forces have on youth and adults alike.
