2006/2. Implementation of General Assembly resolution 60/251
The Economic and Social Council
Recalling its resolution 5 (1) of 16 February 1946, by which it established the Commission on Human Rights, and its subsequent relevant resolutions relating to the mandate of the Commission,
Also recalling General Assembly resolution 60/251 of 15 March 2006,
1. Requests the Commisssion on Human Rights to conclude its work at its sixty-second session, which should be short and procedural, and to transmit its final report to the Council,
2. Decides to abolish the Commission on Human Rights with effect on 16 June 2006.
