Medic Robert Melone files a written report of detainee abuse at the notorious Bagram prison and then denies knowing of abuse to investigators of deaths of Dilawar and Habibullah of interrogational abuse at that prison.

Good description of medical care and numerous descriptions of abuse.  But this abuse investigation at the notorious Gardez base was inconclusive because no supporting evidence was found.

Prisoner arrested on May 4, 04. He tells physician of abuse, including sodomy with a dildo. On June 9, the physician sees that prisoner is bleeding from anus, does not do a rectal exam but notes other signs of injury (p. 5112). On Jul 14, MD was informed of allegation and asked to do a rectal exam; he performed only an external rectal exam only and found an anal tear (p. 5104, 5118-5120).

Prisoners were beaten and hit with butt of rifle while being taken to Abu Ghraib.  Initial medic' screening did not record bruising to eye (p. 9) but MD later said that eye was bruised in a manner supporting prisoner's claim.

No medical records could be found with regard to the complaint that prisoner was abused.

After being kept in solitary confinement for 16 days, prisoner and had panic attacks. The screaming prisoner was handcuffed and put face down on a stretcher and then another stretcher was put on his back. They tied the two stretchers together. The prisoner was screaming and his arms went numb. The MD told investigators that this treatment was sometimes done in the United States. Investigation closed.
